Hurricane Earl; Good Luck
Hurricane Earl:
It is centered on NC, SC, VA Coast Waters,
and most beaches. If you live in NC specififcally, they say
to EVACUATE RIGHT NOW.
Dear Members and Friends:
I hope all of you will be safe during the terror called Hurricane Earl.
I know that most people on the coastal regions and on the beaches will be
effected, and some might not even have a home after the hurricane is over.
I hope you ALL will be safe, healthy, and with your family during this whole
thing! May God help you! ♥
Here are some tips on what to stock up on and what to do:
Put all your personal papers [passport, visa, etc.] in a plastic baggie or envelope.
Prescription medications
First Aid Kit
Ibuprofen or Tylenol
Band aids
Alcohol [for bruises or scrapes]
Shampoo
Conditioner
Razor
Disposable baby wipes
Deodorant
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Map
Cell phone and charger
Clothing for 3 nights for each person in your family, including any diapers needed for
infants or toddlers.
Personal pillows
Blankets (the shelter may or may not have some)
Portable DVD player and movie for children on drive
Bottle water
Dried fruit or raisins
Protein or fruit bars
Vitamins
A gallon or more of water.
Atleast 1 flashlight.
Pack of batteries.
Canned foods
Hand operated can opener
Crackers and snacks (the shelter will give food, but you should bring extra food.)
It's also wise to put together an Activity Tote for your children to entertain themselves
with at the shelter. You might consider packing some cards, travel board games, books,
crayons and coloring books. Places like your local dollar stores carry lots of mini games
and things that can keep them occupied. Just don't let them dig in until you are in the
shelter. Kids get bored pretty easily. Also if you or your family brings items in the shelter
like an IPOD or DVD player keep an eye on it.
If you have pets, there are many companion shelters out there that are willing to have you
and your pet come stay during the storm. These evacuation shelters have facilities your
pet will need. Bring your pet's food and some toys. They will be stressed too.
Tune into the AM stations for the best information on evacuation routes. Some roadways
post their stations so keep your eyes peeled for those.
GOOD LUCK! ♥

Your pawsitively welcome.
I found out the day before yesterday, or a couple of days ago.
There is about 3 or 4 hurricanes centering now.
Hurricane Danielle recently died down, not Hurricane Gerald [not sure
about name; tropical name], Hurricane Fiona [tropical] and Earl
which is the one they're mainly worried about. Right now,
they are hastily evacuating North Carolina citizens [2 main cities]
